JWS always joke about it: "Make sure to survive Armageddon to find out for yourself".

?!?
What are you all sayin'?
In a hundred years of tripe, disscussing endlessly the subjects of oral, anal, vaginal, and mammal obscessions, they never even touched on two conflicting opinions, whereby living under one roof is made impossible?
And women never leave men behind? ... what a strange, spaced-out and skewed belief system they have, indeed !

Q.: Why did you not attend the memorial?
A.: Despite saying 'i t is important to attend' there is no scriptural backup. Actually, I have been quite sick from travelling to and fro the many meetings, so I read all the scriptural accounts myself at home.
Those who are of Jesus’ “other sheep” class, with the hope of everlasting life on a paradise earth, are not under command to partake of the bread and the wine. (John 10:16) It is important to attend the annual celebration, but they do not partake of the emblems. So if one of them is sick or is traveling and thus not with any congregation that evening, he or she could privately read over appropriate scriptures (including the account of Jesus’ instituting the celebration) and pray for Jehovah’s blessing on the event worldwide. But in this case there is no need for any additional arrangement for a meeting or a special Biblical discussion a month later.

Timing of "thinner magazines" announcement
by sir82 inthe announcement of the reduced number of pages in the watchtower & awake will be made after the watchtower study following the "special talk" on april 8.. theoretically, that's when there will be more visitors and "outsiders" than usual.
even the talk itself has 1/2 of its content directed at inactive jws.. obviously this reduction in pages has been in the works for several weeks if not months.
why pick that date to announce it?

Remember the good old days?
Shelves upon shelves full of brown binders to dust down during spring cleaning. Nowadays the produced tripe is downloaded and archived, soon to be forgotten. - Honey, I just formatted the drive!

According to the Department of the Treasury the WTBTS can be requested to show some public records.
...unless it turns out to be an April Fool's Day joke. After all the letter is dated April 1, 2003
Quote:
"The law requires you to make available for public inspection a copy of your organization's exemption application, any supporting documents and the exemption letter to any individual who requests such documents in person or in writing. You can charge only a reasonable fee for reproduction and actual postage costs for the copied materials. The law does not require you to provide copies of public inspection documents that are widely available, such as by posting them on the Internet (World Wide Web). You may be liable for a penalty of $20 a day for each day you do not make these documents available for public inspection."
